Beatrice a Formidable Beauty
“I have been around the world, looking for that woman-girl who knows love can endure.
And you know it will, and you know it will.” ~ Crosby, Stills & Nash, Southern Cross (1982)
The song, which peaked at #18, is about a man who sails the world after a failed love affair. During the voyage, he takes comfort in sailing (“We got eighty feet of waterline / Nicely making way.”), in the beauty of the sea, and particularly in the Southern Cross a constellation by which sailors in the Southern Hemisphere have traditionally navigated. (some of this per wikipedia)
I have always loved this song. Even when I was a child, I preferred Classic Rock.
But his final consolation is music (“I have my ship / And all her flags are a flyin’ / She is all that I have left / And music is her name.”). I feel like at X-Art we have our site, our girls and Brig and I have each other and our awesome team that is really a family AND that is what makes us special.
For some reason I feel like Beatrice, standing here could be the “woman-girl” that Stephen Stills is writing about.
She is a 24 year old Latvian beauty, she has a beautiful, musical voice and we were immediately charmed when we met her.
